"The Detailer" is an easy to use , easy to clean up product utilized as a "wash" to highlight details ( thus the name ) in , on or around our models . The old method of thinning paint as a wash is a lot messier and unforgiving . Mistakes can be disastrous . "The Detailer" is a water base ,water soluble product that is very forgiving in that faux pas can be fixed with a damp paper towel or q-tip . It dries in 15 to 30 minutes and I think  it brings out the details quite nicely .

I have seven colors in the one ounce bottles , including "rust" , and have tried them all. Dirty wheels , radiator grills , and dashboards are my usual victims . I also used "The Detailer" to create a wooden pick-up truck bed that I think turned out well. The tools I use to apply "The Detailer" are round toothpicks , small brushes and the aforementioned damp towels. This is a great product that makes a self-proclaimed glue-bomb hacker like me look good at times :-

"The Detailer" washes were a new product for me, recommended by my friends.

Ordering them was done quickly (since overseas I got excellent help from Gary himself), and shipping was done fast .I used the washes on a model car kit: Grille, headlight lenses, taillight lenses, instrument dials, interior, on the engine, steering wheel, and as pin point wash all over the various "metal" joints. I'm very happy with the results.

The strong points I like most are it's consistency in color/transparency straight out of the bottle and very good adherence to various materials. Thus it's ease of use and predictable outcome. No messy mixing anymore with unwanted results; even touch-ups are done with ease, I now use it on my armour models as well: I used the wash for my 1/35th scale "Elefant" tank and even figures (see thumbnails below).

Highly recommended !

I have used The Detailer on cars and I have to say that it beats dry brushing black paint for creating that dirty effect that we see on the front grilles of cars.  I built a model of a Morris Mini Cooper 1275S Mk 1 and used The Detailer for the front grille and also to black tint the windows.  I was pleasantly surprised with the way it dried up on the windows, as it is water based and prone to have brush marks and runs if applied too generously.  Practice makes perfect and in the end I applied 3 coats to the windows and they dried beautifully.

I also used The Detailer on a diorama I'm making of an old west town shoot out scene.  The buildings had The Detailer added to them after initial painting and being water based, it found its way into all the nooks and crannies of the timbers on the buildings, highlighting them perfectly.  Because the buildings in question are sun bleached, I have added white chalk pastels to was out the bright colours of the paintwork, but the effect of The Detailer can still be seen, as the detail of the darker areas between the timbers still shows through, which wouldn't be the case if I hadn't have used it at all.

I also use The Detailer on my painted figures, to help bring out facial features and to "dirty" the clothing.

Because The Detailer is water based, it is easy to control if you happen to apply more than you intended to by using a damp brush to pull it off again, or even a soft cloth etc.  Because of its fluid nature, it will find the nooks and crannies by itself and couldn't be easier to use.  I'd recommend it to any modeler.  I believe that a model is only as good as the detail present on it, and The Detailer really does take a lot of the hard work and experimenting out of trying to create the right effect.  I've only used the black, but it is available in other colours, although the black has already shown itself to be quite versatile

Delighted to write the detailer turned out to be everything you described. I not only found it easy to use when I tried it on some recently arrived models but now I have added it to my workbench. A great product.

THE DETAILER is a unique new liquid that was created for the hobbyists to tint windows, blacking out areas and panel lines, highlighting and anodizing. It is a water based liquid that is not only easy to clean-up but it is safe as well for all surfaces.

A mistake in application is easily corrected by washing with water, or letting it dry and peeling it off.......

........A product without equal, and one I know will make your detailing both easier and better. Give it a try, you won't be sorry.

Just got the bottles you sent. Thanks very much! I never knew how much I count on your product to build the finest models I can until I ran out and couldn't find it locally!

The Detailer makes the impossible, possible and easy.

I've been modeling for about 28 years, and I have very few products on my "indispensable" list, your Detailer is one of them

Again thanks, Chris

From Tom Nagy

I build and paint a wide variety of models and statues for myself and offer a build-up service for customers. I have found The Detailer to be very useful in other areas of the hobby besides cars and trucks. The different colors that The Detailer offers allows much creative applications.

For model trains The Detailer highlights radiator grills, louvers, trucks, rivets, lenses for marker lights,, air intake grills and more.

For aircraft apply it to the body panels, wing flaps, landing gear, piston and jet engine details.

Ships, small details are brought out very well such as railings, lifeboats, cargo, machinery, etc.

For enhancing figures, I use The Detailer as applied by brush and as a wiping stain. Using brown rust, red and yellow together as themselves or mixed together it works well for facial and skin tones, black will also enhance skin for muscle tone. I like using the product for diorama bases, especially Aurora and Polar Lights kits.

Everyone should use The Detailer on their favorite modeling projects. It is very easy to use and the results are satisfying. You'll be surprised at The Detailer's versatility beyond model cars.

I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed using The Detailer. It works very well!! As soon as I got it, I got out a Caprice Police Car kit I've been saving and tried it out. I blacked washed the chrome grill and the wheels. Then I used the yellow on the inside of the headlight lenses and turn signal lenses. I also used the blue on the clear light bar lenses. You have an excellent product. I always have had to use thin paint washes before, sometimes not with good results! The fact that this is water washable is great.

I'm 38 and have been modeling for 25 years. I am always looking for better ways to model, and this one really works! I will be ordering more shortly, including the green and brown, I am ready to do some window tinting.

You have a great product Gary. Keep up the good work.

Thank you for this marvelous product. It's refreshing to have a product do as advertised.

I attempt perfection while building cars, full size or scale. I've done 3 grills on previously built models (most impressive was the 68 'Vette grill)

The Detailer will now be part of my building tools
